Riding at Sweet Water Farm
We offer riding lessons for young and old.
You will learn:
- Natural Horsemanship
We believe it is important that our students have an understanding of horse psychology, how to handle horses confidently on the ground, and how to communicate with horses in a harmonious way.
- English Riding
We ride English only. We teach our students to have a balanced seat, and from there we introduce dressage and jumping.
-Trail Riding
Especially in the winter time, we do a lot of riding in the woods to hide from the rain. And in the summer it's a treat to enjoy the sunshine on our beautiful tails.
We offer Trail Rides for individuals and small groups visiting the island. Contact us for rates.
- Vaulting
Occasionally we practice vaulting... particularly with our young students so that they develop excellent balance and an independent seat. The best way to describe vaulting is... gymnastics on horseback!
-Driving
Our pony Napoleon is trained to pull a cart... as well as the drag that rakes our arena.
Our group lessons are $35 an hour
Private lessons are $45 an hour
