Gergi is a 2008 Ak Sakal line mare. She is almost finished shedding out, today we took some pictures of her..
And we made a video of her group: http://youtu.be/7GkgHQOEvpg Well, as best plans are laid out, reality kicks in and changes have to be made..
So it did for our breeding options...Eramay was not available when we needed him. We are very thankful for Latisha to send us semen of her young stallion Arin to save the day. In 14 days we will know if Sheherezad and Ayal Pikira are pregnant... Sheherezad from Eramay, and Pika from Arin, a cremello stallion. We dropped off 2 mares to be bred by artificial insemination on Monday at the Mount Vernon large animal hospital.
We brought Ayal Pikira and Sheherezad to be bred to Eramay who lives in Florida. We are so excited to see the outcome of this...a year is a long time to wait!!!! Wish us luck! We saw some beautiful horses in Ashgabad...and I think if "ashgabad" would come here, they would not be disappointed to see our horses...Jenny did good with the camera...
Below are the colts from last year. We were home 5 days and barely over being tired from our trip around the globe to have a jump clinic with Linda Chatfield.
Sonja rode Kegas, Marina the pony Napolean, Jenny Penta and Dagjeir and I rode Paelka and Paktaly. All horses performed great, and I still have to publish our movies so we can see our progress! We are back from our 6 day journey to Ashgabad, Turkmenistan where we attended the program including the 2nd meeting of the International Akhal-Teke Association.
We missed the endurance racing on April 24th, but saw the showjumping, the circus and the opening day of the horse racing. There were much fewer people attending this year, and some new people. The meeting itself was a lecture day... Overall we are happy we went as it is nice to meet people you only know by email and get to know each other, and most excitedly we got to bring 12 Russian Viniik passports home for horses in the US. And perhaps one of the other highlights was to see Francine Anderson participate in the races on Sunday! I will post more as time allows... |
