Akhal Teke Under Saddle in the U.S.
On May 7th, 8th, and 9th 2005 Kelsey Swanson and Kerr Duson rode the pure bred Akhal-Teke stallion Durkkhal and the Arab/Akhal-Teke gelding Aipuyi in the Mt. Carmel Pioneer Ride in Mt. Carmel, Utah.
It took place over 3 days. There were 87 riders the first day, 61 the 2nd, and 55 the 3rd. We finished each day in about 5 hours ride time.
Durkkhal and Kelsey took 2nd place overall for the whole 155 mile race. Aipuyi and Kerr took 3rd and Aipuyi was awarded Best Condition.
Watch for their next race, the Tevis Cup July 23rd 2005.
