The course at Aspen is...well...breathtaking...
Since Paktaly hadn't competed for the last 2 years I had no idea how things would go...and he was perfect...
He cantered both waters, didn't look at the TANK BARREL we had to jump, not the giant rocks we had to pass, the pirate ship...we went clear and had 2.8 time faults ...and that was my mistake, I thought we had gone too fast..
We finished 10th place.

Marina rode like a pro... they had a refusal at the first jump, but she made him do it, and had no more trouble after that.
She too had 2 water complexes to cross, I am so so proud of her!!!
She had no time faults and moved up 2 more places to finish 7th and got a ribbon!

Zoe who lives part time in Seattle and therefore can't ride that much...really did well...
She had a double clear round and moved up 3 places to finish 5th!

OK...especially the last jump he really over jumped...not something he does at home...
Anyone need to go somewhere? Fly Turkmen Air...
We had no jump faults and no time faults, and that made us move up one place.

Marina and Kegas did great, but they did get one rail down, still, they moved up one place!

I rode first on Paktaly ( Turkmen Air) and I was very happy how quickly he settled. We got a 6 for everything we did in the test, final score 40.9

Marina and Kegas ( Alien Invasion)  had great moments in their test and finished on a score of 48.5

Zoe and Pasabi ( Darth Vader) had a dressage score of 46.5

On Thursday we took 3 pure bred Akhal-Teke horses to NW Equestrian center to school cross country.
First, We dropped the mare Pipi off at Mount Vernon large animal hospital to be inseminated. Then a stop at the feedstore to get hay and grain for the trip.
We made a randez-vous at Northgate Mall...thinking there would be ample space in the parking lot....to pick up one of our riders...little did I know it has been completly changed with narrow tree line drives...but we made it...
Zoe is riding Pasabi, she is 15 and this will be her first recognized event riding at Beginner Novice.
Marina is riding Kegas, she is 13 and this is her first recognized event too riding at Beginner Novice.
I am riding Paktaly, at Novice because he has not been competing for 2 years.

Jenny took Paktaly on line and had him jump some old and some new jumps.
The nice thing this way is that no rider is there to hinder the horse.
It was his first to jump this big coop, and we added color by trowing the zebra cloth on jumps and milk jugs on the little coop.
afterwards the pastured horses went to the "milk bar" and re arranged them the way they saw fit...

We have a slew of students...and we are going to lots of shows!
First one will be this weekend. Aspen horse trials in Yelm, WA.
Then a 3 day event clinic in Bellingham, followed by Whidbey island horse trials in July, Stanwood show August 3rd....and more.
More foals to be born, more horses to be bred...hay to be made...
Why is summer so short!

Not exactly what I had in mind. Ak Tultuk is growing so nicely, and so handsome...but to capture it on film....

We are back to moving and riding in the front pasture...and the sun has been shining....
