May 29th Pika gave birth to gorgeous filly. The sire is Pan Tau. She has a partial blue eye, and is very elegant!
Finally...with the help of Zoe we found a fitting name!
Not easy to do with Turkmen words that are hard to pronounce, trying to match letters of the parents...he seems pretty brave and has 4 socks...soooo I REALLY like the meaning of this one... Arslan Jorap meaning Lion Socks. Early in the morning Ahlie Rhatan gave birth to a handsome Perlino colt!
All went very well, and he's a big strong foal! I am so excited! Aktepel should be soon, they were bred a day apart. This year Turkmenistan is celebrating the fact that they are independent! The festivities where beautiful, a smaller attendance from foreigners made it all more "homey". The country was greener than I have ever seen this time of the year, and the mares and foals looked in better condition. I feel very fortunate to be able to visit the home land of our beloved Akhal - Teke horses! To see more please visit our FB page! Pluis and I met when we were 12 years old. We both loved horses and had many adventures together. We have always remained best friends...until cancer took her away much too early!!! I was so thankful to see her one last time, It is hard to believe you are no longer here...but you are forever in my thoughts and hart, Lieve Pluis!!!! The setting of this stable was just beautiful! This barn is geared for the drag fox hunt! They have a small CX field! My main purpose for the trip was to see the horses and decide whom to import semen from. Not an easy task! And not all the stallions I wanted to see where there...
It will be for the 2016 breeding season...so there is time.. |
