We have had unusual rains lately...it doesn't just rain..it is like a monsoon! Our annual pond is half filled in one single day?! The good thing about it, we now have a water element to practice in at home! Here are Marian on Pasabi, Mia on Kegas and Elena on Paelka.

 Elena got some private lessons, riding Paktaly here and Paelka. We trimmed feet together, cleaned sheath, cleaned stalls...did fecal worm counts, and more Natural horsemanship.            Here we are feeding North West Supplement to the herd, we keep the young stallions separated from the mares.    We spend our days in the mud and rain, but at night, we have a warm fire and good food to come home to. Елена is teaching us some ethnic dishes, food..my husbands favorite topic... If you want the recipe, go to his website .   On Sunday we had 8 horses going for jump lessons with Linda Chatfield. Jenny is on vacation, you'd think we'd have a spare horse...but alas, so many students, I did not even get to ride! Zoe rode the new pony Texas...he is quite the little jumper! Елена speaks a little English, and my Russian is just a few words...no worries, we managed.Елена wanted to have the full farm experience, from breaking young horses to mucking and feeding. Елена is a great help teaching me new words!       Here she is with Jenny learning Natural Horsemanship with Padisha, 3 1/2 year old mare.    She got to drive the tractor, feeding hay on a particularly rainy day...bottom right, that is the colt rolling in the hay    On November 8th Jenny and I signed the papers to our new property! We finally closed after month of overcoming hurdles and getting financing in place. It is almost hard to believe it is finally done, but as of now, Sweet Water Farm Akhal-Teke has 77 acres to add to our 25! Below I am riding with my childhood friend and her mom who were visiting from Holland, doing the rounds of the new place!          |
