In 1999 I bought Olimpic Gul and Shazda Giz, my first 2 pure bred mares. I trained both of them for eventing. Here is Olimpic Gul, at different venues, and currently I compete on her son Paktaly! Olympic Gul Paktaly

We made a video of Paelka yesterday. He is so fun to ride, light on the aids and capable... Here is his video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGmvst-Mcnc&feature=youtu.be
We went to NW Equestrian Center to school the XC course last weekend...and just before getting to our destination the truck overheated. Long story short...we had to stay 3 days instead of two, and managed to school XC every day!
Marina and I went to Chahalis last weekend to compete at the Young Riders Benefit Horse Trials. Marina rode in Beginner Novice, she had the best warm up ever...but she got flustered going in the ring..she went in before tthe bell, then after she started she went of course. They weren't as settled as in warm up and their score showed it. They got a score of 50.5 I rode in my and Paktaly's first USEA recognized Training show. I was pleased with my dressage test, although after getting my sheet I noticed I cantered at K instead of F and got 2 faults... I finished with a score of 38.6 that put us in 8t place. Saturday I rode XC early, and Paktaly, or "Turkmen Air" is his show name, was amazing. He jumped like a pro, never hesitated or looked at a thing. I was worried about the coop to the water, it was murky and weedy, but he jumped right in! He was great at the 2 stride... And he didn't bat an eye at the ditch and log...instead he does his name justice... Next was a steep little hill narrow on top with a log and back down. We finished with no jump faults and .8 time faults and moved up to 5th place. Marina and Kegas jumped really well too, they kept their pace steady. I was happily taking pictures of her and was ready to click when I noticed her not taking the jump... #13...she rode right by id and instead jumped 14. She did have her birthday this weekend, and she now is 14....but she now was eliminated!!! Sunday I jumped early again, Paktaly made it all look easy and we kept our 5th place. Marina was allowed to jump, and she had a very nice round. Though lesson learned..we would have both finished 5th...
Jenny took Paktaly on line and had him jump some old and some new jumps.
The nice thing this way is that no rider is there to hinder the horse. It was his first to jump this big coop, and we added color by trowing the zebra cloth on jumps and milk jugs on the little coop. afterwards the pastured horses went to the "milk bar" and re arranged them the way they saw fit... People ask us all the time..
The answer is no. We follow Dr. Benetts advice....and wait for the growth plates in the WHOLE horse to close... Please read her article here: http://www.heartnsoularabians.com/uploads/Dr_Deb_Bennett.pdf We have been working with Padishah all winter, and here is a video of the results! She now goes confidently on the trail, road and traffic. Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta06eF35ERQ&feature=youtu.be We had lessons on Saturday with Linda...Jenny on Pasabi, and Mia on Penta... me on Ulduze the rest of the gang did not get their pictures taken...
We ride a lot in the front pasture in the summer...grids, cross country...and a great way for the kids to learn to canter in big wide open spaces... Here is a video of a morning warm up: http://youtu.be/hCim_770gL4 |
