Unless I go to a clinic or schooling show, all recognized 3 day events require 4 days for me.
I have to leave a day in advance in order to be at the show grounds in time for dressage.
This is because we are at the mercy of the ferry schedule. I'd never arrive in time if I would leave the same day as the competition starts.

Depending how many horses I bring, and how far we have to travel, I have to pack for 4 days not forgetting a single item, I have a long check list to go over.
But our ferry commute is my favorite..it remains a beautiful piece full ride, with the occasional Orca whales passing buy or groups of Dolphins!
